Supply Chain Director

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a senior leader to direct its entire supply chain function. The Supply Chain Director will oversee daily operations, strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with hospital standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily supply chain activities to maximise staff effectiveness and service delivery.
• Provide procurement advice to internal departments and senior management.
• Manage vendor relationships and integration with information technology systems.
• Take full fiscal responsibility for the procurement operating budget.
• Oversee contract preparation, variation management and adherence.
• Direct inventory, logistics and ensure uninterrupted supply of medical and non‑medical items.
• Develop, maintain and communicate procurement policies, procedures and best practices.
• Lead staffing, training, performance monitoring and mentorship of the supply chain team.
• Supervise supply chain applications, system maintenance, development and training.
• Conduct financial analysis, compliance monitoring and performance metrics.
• Implement system automation projects and drive benchmarking initiatives.
• Maintain a Quality Management System in line with Joint Commission International Accreditation standards.
• Perform periodic audits, investigate non‑conformances and guide corrective actions.
• Coordinate supplier evaluation, ethics enforcement and contract negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of hospital supply chain experience, including 5 years in senior management.
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
• Proven expertise in supply chain processes, contract management and logistics.
