Third Officer – Deck Watch

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Third Officer to join our deck department and support safe navigation on board. The role involves standing sea, port and anchor watches, assisting the Master with voyage planning, and ensuring all navigational documentation complies with IMO and flag state requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sea, port and anchor watches under the Master’s direction, maintaining vigilance and safety at all times.
• Assist in detailed voyage planning, route optimisation and execution of the passage plan.
• Correct, update and order charts, nautical publications and other required documents in line with IMO and flag regulations.
• Maintain the ship’s Log Book accurately, recording all relevant events and observations.
• Supervise and verify the proper functioning of navigational equipment, lights and day marks, reporting any deficiencies.
• Support safe anchor handling and towing operations as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Officer of the Watch (unlimited) certificate II/2.
• At least 1 year of experience as a navigational watch‑keeping officer.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of safe practices for anchor handling and towing operations.
• Ability to work effectively under the Master’s instructions and in a team environment.
