Account Manager II - Grocery Partners

About the role

Careem is building an app for the wider Middle East and is looking for an Account Manager for its grocery and supermarket partners across the UAE. The role combines negotiation, relationship management, business strategy and problem solving, and owns the commercial success of grocery and supermarket partners on the Careem platform.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for grocery and supermarket partners, leading relationships with high-profile chains and supermarkets.
• Grow existing non-food accounts and onboard new high-value grocery and supermarket brands, improving catalog depth, pricing competitiveness, availability and basket size.
• Analyze account data such as GTV, order frequency, basket size, SKU-level availability and conversion, and base decisions on data.
• Hold periodic partner performance reviews and set next month's plans covering commercial performance, operational health and catalog quality.
• Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, Catalog, Customer Care and Finance to help partners meet growth objectives.
• Show partners the value of advertising and in-app promotions to increase order volume and basket value.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in account management of enterprise accounts or commercial roles, ideally in grocery, FMCG, retail or e-commerce.
• Startup experience in a high-growth environment is highly preferable.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or a related field.
• Ability to build and lead relationships with high-profile grocery and retail partners.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, able to manage own time and priorities.

Required skills

• Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and project/program management applications.
• Quick understanding of margin structures, promotional mechanics and catalog dynamics in grocery retail.
