AFC Technician

About the role

The AFC Technician provides engineering and maintenance services for the Automatic Fare Collection and CCTV systems of the Dubai Metro, ensuring reliable operation of gates, ticket machines and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the AFC Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance on AFC systems, including automatic gates, ticket vending machines, ticket office machines, central control and station equipment.
• Install, service and re‑configure AFC and CCTV systems in stations, depots and car parks.
• Perform repairs using hand, machine, electrical and electronic tools, following technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Identify faulty AFC equipment, hand it over to the electronics workshop for repair, and maintain accurate records in a computerized maintenance management system.
• Support the implementation of complex systems or new projects and carry out shift and emergency duties as required.

Required profile

• Vocational trade certificate/diploma/degree in electronics, computer science, IT, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably 1 year of experience as a qualified technician maintaining automatic fare collection systems.
• Valid UAE driving licence with good driving skills is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to use various electronic test equipment.
• Proficiency with PC for maintenance tasks.
• Experience with a computerized maintenance management system.
