Area Director, Engineering

About the role

The Area Director of Engineering will lead all repair, maintenance and engineering operations across Yas Plaza Hotels on Yas Island, ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable hotel facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee engineering and maintenance activities for all hotels, managing budgets, capital projects and contractor performance.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programmes, energy‑conservation initiatives and sustainability practices.
• Coordinate with procurement, architecture, construction teams and other hotel departments to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain accurate documentation, life‑safety systems and inventory controls.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering leadership experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale hotel engineering operations and complex projects.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• HVAC system knowledge and maintenance.
• Proficiency with engineering software, technical applications and design programmes.
