Assistant Director of Sales - Leisure

About the role

Kempinski is looking for an Assistant Director of Sales (Leisure) in Dubai. The role supports the Director of Sales in achieving and exceeding the yearly sales budget, covering assigned accounts and geographical markets, including European markets. It is a permanent full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Sales in managing the sales team, attending meetings, calls, client appointments and events in their absence
• Manage key accounts on an assigned account or geographic area, maximising revenue and fair market share against competitors
• Prospect new accounts and cover all segments of assigned markets
• Conduct site inspections, follow up tentative bookings and stay up to date on competitors and hotel services
• Help define the annual sales action plan and prepare the annual budget with statistics and forecasts
• Execute sales actions within the cost budget, negotiate rates and cross-sell other Kempinski hotels
• Attend trade shows, sales blitzes and workshops; document sales actions in SFA (S&C) and update the OPERA contact database
• Take part in the duty manager rota and follow fire, hygiene, health and safety rules

Required profile

• University degree
• At least 5 years of experience in a 4/5 star hotel
• Excellent spoken and written English and the local language, depending on the role
• Planning, organisation, adaptability, flexibility, initiative and negotiation and selling skills
• Knowledge of food production and service procedures
