Compliance Advisor – Regulatory & AML Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Compliance Advisor to join our compliance team. You will provide practical, commercial advice on regulatory, AML, KYC and risk matters while working closely with partners, lawyers and business support staff in a fast‑paced professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process new client and matter requests, conduct risk assessments and perform ongoing monitoring.
• Develop and maintain the firm’s AML and financial‑crime framework in line with evolving regulations.
• Ensure policies and procedures remain compliant with AML, sanctions and other regulatory obligations.
• Monitor regulatory developments, legislation and sanctions updates affecting the firm.
• Support policy reviews, regulatory audits and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Collaborate with the Senior Compliance Manager on due‑diligence and client onboarding.
• Manage reporting, KPIs and compliance‑related metrics.
• Deliver AML and risk awareness training and provide advice on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.
• Draft correspondence, coordinate client information requests and support cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Demonstrable KYC/AML experience within a law firm, professional services firm or other regulated environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, compliance, risk, AML, sanctions and KYC matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong research, analytical, planning and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous professional development.
