About the role
The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, handling cash and bank transactions, and supporting the finance team with reporting and reconciliation tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy and maintain financial records using journals, ledgers, and computers.
- Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute financial, accounting, and payroll reports.
- Complete period‑end closing procedures and prepare consolidated cash deposits.
- Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements.
- Follow up on past‑due accounts and vendor invoices until resolved.
- Document, maintain, and act upon cash variances and administer cashier banks and contracts.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific license or certification required.
