CSSD Technician

About the role

The CSSD Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient decontamination, testing, and distribution of reusable medical devices to support direct patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, dis‑assemble, clean, inspect and test contaminated equipment according to established protocols.
• Operate and validate washer‑disinfector machines, driers, sterilizers and other decontamination equipment, documenting results.
• Perform quality checks for cleanliness and completeness before distribution to wards, departments and theatres.
• Issue sterile supplies, maintain stock levels and assist with restocking.
• Document receipt of goods, verify delivery notes and record any non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in CSS technology (minimum two‑year program).
• Certification by the Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM).
• Valid DOH license.

Required skills

• Operation of washer‑disinfector, dryer and sterilizer equipment.
• Conducting validation and quality control tests for decontamination processes.
