Data Protection Intern

About the role

The Data Protection Intern supports the Privacy Office in keeping the company compliant with UAE data protection laws, offering hands‑on exposure to the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree‑Law No. 45 of 2021).

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain the data inventory and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), covering data categories, purposes, legal bases and retention periods.
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy reviews.
• Update data privacy policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and business needs.
• Help track regulatory updates and maintain data maps and data‑flow inventories with business teams.

Required profile

• Pursuing or recent graduate in Law, Information Security, Business or a related field.
• Genuine interest in data protection and basic knowledge of Middle East data privacy laws, especially the UAE PDPL.
• Clear written English, strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of data protection concepts and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with UAE PDPL is a plus; progress toward CIPP/E or CIPM is desirable.
