Director, BandM EMC

About the role

Adidas is hiring a Director for its BandM EMC role in Dubai. The position is central to supporting the profitability of the EMC Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business through assortment planning and forecasting, in-season trading and category strategy across Retail, e-commerce and franchise. It contributes to the buying strategy and drives revenue and margin improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the overall buying strategy and execution for DTC, meeting KPIs such as net sales, margin, range efficiency, productivity and range overlap.
• Select ranges and concepts for each market, balancing brand and commercial considerations.
• Contribute to pre-season planning, including Open-To-Buy, product planning, option planning and ranging.
• Make the buying forecast based on the OTB and assortment plan, aligned with marketing strategy and historical data.
• Enhance country ranges through assortment planning that reflects localisation and differentiation.
• Analyse sell-through performance regularly and help shape strategic planning.
• Ensure product availability with the supply chain team and mitigate risks; create a seasonal/phasing framework.
• Use consumer behaviour, trends and feedback to refine trading actions and capture unmet demand.
• Identify improvements in trading and inventory management processes and build scalable foundations for growth.
• Plan brand and commercial calendars, and work with Planning, Finance, Demand Planning, SCM and operations teams.
• Evaluate subordinates, own talent management, set goals and build a succession pipeline.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Finance or Merchandising.
• 10-12 years of merchandising experience.
• 5 years of management experience.

Required skills

• Advanced use of the MS Office suite.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English.
• Knowledge of retail management systems.
