Director of Infosec Engineering

About the role

Careem is seeking a Director of Information Security Engineering to lead and shape its security engineering function across cloud, application, product, cyber resilience and data protection domains. Reporting to the CISO, you will own strategy, execution and delivery of security programs while mentoring a high‑performing team of experts.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a comprehensive strategy to continuously improve security, resilience and data protection practices.
• Lead offensive security initiatives and oversee their execution.
• Partner with cross‑functional business units to align security engineering, cyber resilience and data protection mandates.
• Collaborate with Global Engineering, Infrastructure, Risk and IT leaders on technical solutions.
• Research, evaluate and recommend security technologies for internal and external solutions.
• Develop, mentor and lead a high‑performing information security team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive security leadership and management experience.
• Deep expertise in SSDLC, secure CI/CD pipelines and security architecture at scale.
• Proven track record designing and implementing DevSecOps, cloud security, and penetration testing programs.
• Strong ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization.
