Government Relations Officer (UAE National)

About the role

The Government and Regulatory Officer supports Mashreq’s regulatory unit by handling all requests and queries from courts, police, public prosecution and other authorities in the UAE and Qatar. The role ensures that each case is processed accurately, compliantly and within agreed service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Process UAE court orders in line with approved procedures.
• Handle Qatar court orders and law‑enforcement agency requests within defined SLAs.
• Manage police letters and enquiries across all UAE emirates.
• Correspond with Public Prosecution and CID on behalf of the bank.
• Monitor and respond to email enquiries from government entities.
• Execute case processing through the Velocity‑MOFT system where applicable.
• Ensure all communications comply with regulatory instructions and internal policies.
• Track, coordinate and follow up on assigned cases to achieve timely closure.
• Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and service quality.
• Coordinate with internal departments (CIBG, RBG, Operations, Head Office) and external regulators.
• Perform other duties as assigned by line management.

Required profile

• UAE national.
• Full‑time availability.
• Experience handling court orders, police and prosecution correspondence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within SLAs.
• Effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Velocity‑MOFT case management system.
