Legal Director

About the role

The Legal Director reports to the Head of Legal and will lead the provision of legal advice, guidance, and support across all real estate activities. This senior position works closely with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and mitigate risk in property acquisitions, development, financing, and management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, financing, and property management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, lease agreements, construction contracts, and vendor contracts.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence, covering title searches, zoning, land‑use analysis, environmental assessments, and property surveys.
• Monitor and interpret UAE real estate laws, regulations, and industry practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Identify legal risks in projects and transactions, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Assist in resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
• Prepare and maintain essential legal documentation such as deeds, mortgages, easements, and lease agreements.
• Collaborate with executives, project managers, finance teams, external counsel, and regulatory authorities.
• Support the creation and revision of real‑estate‑related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct legal research on emerging trends and advise stakeholders on potential impacts.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree; LLM or related qualifications are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate law, preferably within the UAE, with a focus on development, construction, and contract law.
• Deep understanding of the UAE legal framework for real estate and property regulation.
• Proven negotiation, communication, and drafting abilities.
• Strong analytical and risk‑assessment skills.
