Legal Director

About the role

Kennedys is looking for an experienced Legal Director to join its Cyber and Risk team in Dubai. You will provide high‑quality advice on cyber incidents, data breaches and the associated regulatory and litigation risks, working closely with partners and the global cyber team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex incident‑response mandates for insurers and corporate clients.
• Provide strategic coverage and claims advice under cyber insurance policies.
• Advise on data‑protection compliance, breach notifications and regulatory engagement across the Middle East.
• Handle and supervise data‑subject claims and related disputes.
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers.
• Contribute to business development, client relationship management and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• Substantial post‑qualification experience (typically 8+ years) in cyber, data privacy, insurance coverage or commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to lead complex matters, supervise teams and deliver commercially focused advice at a senior level.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, advocacy and client‑relationship skills.
• Qualified in England & Wales, Australia or another common‑law jurisdiction; prior Middle East experience is highly desirable.
• Confident, commercially aware lawyer with a collaborative style and a genuine interest in developing the practice and mentoring others.
