MEP Estimation Manager

About the role

The MEP Estimation Manager leads the estimation and engineering team to produce accurate, competitive cost estimates for large‑scale mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects. This role works closely with senior management and project teams to ensure financial performance aligns with company objectives and market conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimation team in preparing cost estimates, tenders and bid proposals for MEP projects.
• Review project specifications, design documents and BOQs to ensure comprehensive cost estimation.
• Develop and maintain cost databases for materials, labour and subcontractors.
• Assess project risks and apply value‑engineering and risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with procurement, project management and engineering to gather accurate cost data.
• Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to keep bids competitive.
• Oversee technical and commercial bid submissions ensuring compliance with client requirements.
• Provide mentorship and training to improve team performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience managing a team of estimators and engineers in MEP projects.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Required skills

• Cost estimation techniques and BOQ preparation.
• Proficiency with estimation software.
• AutoCAD.
• Microsoft Office suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
