Operations Manager – Boutique Retail

About the role

The Operations Manager works closely with the Boutique Manager to oversee all non‑selling functions of the store. This role ensures smooth daily operations, from payroll and personnel management to loss prevention and facilities upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with company policies, including cash handling, security, inventory, and record‑keeping.
• Train, coach and manage staff on POS procedures, returns, alterations, safety and security protocols.
• Supervise staffing, scheduling and payroll budgeting for cashiers, security, receiving and maintenance teams.
• Control expenses, monitor receiving accuracy, manage transfers, damages and RTVs to maintain inventory integrity.
• Ensure store security, facility safety codes compliance, and conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
• Coordinate communication between the boutique and central distribution or corporate inventory control.
• Produce operational reports and maintain records to ensure policy adherence.
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefit enrollment and payroll processing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of retail store management with a strong operations focus.
• Ability to work full‑time schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow‑through skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle merchandise and fixtures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and inventory control systems.
• Experience operating phone systems, cash registers and sensor‑tag removers.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, security and communications/MIS equipment maintenance.
