Polisher – General Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The Polisher provides hands‑on maintenance and repair support for guest rooms and hotel facilities, ensuring all equipment and surfaces are kept in excellent condition. This role combines preventive maintenance, surface preparation, and quick response to guest repair requests.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities.
• Perform basic landscaping and sprinkler repairs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
• Driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks on stairs, ladders, and ramps.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic system basics.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall, and surface‑preparation techniques.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for equipment scheduling and temperature adjustments.
