Research Scientist – Cyber Security

About the role

The Center for Cyber Security at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Scientist to lead cutting‑edge research in systems security and privacy. The role is based in Abu Dhabi with close collaboration with NYU researchers in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct world‑class research in systems security and privacy, producing high‑impact publications in top‑tier conferences and journals.
• Mentor and supervise PhD, master and bachelor students, helping them develop research capabilities.
• Collaborate with government entities, industry partners, and internal teams to deliver groundbreaking results.
• Contribute technically and administratively to workshops, conferences, competitions, and other center activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with a focus on security or privacy.
• At least six years of post‑doctoral research experience in computer security, with a strong record of publications.
• Excellent analytical, design and coding abilities, and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and take initiative.
