Sales Manager – Modern Trade (Head Office)

About the role

The Sales Manager (Modern Trade – Head Office) will drive sales growth across major modern‑trade retailers, managing strategic relationships at head‑office level and leading a team of Key Account Executives. Reporting to the Channel Head, the role ensures the execution of joint business plans, commercial negotiations and promotional activities to deliver sustainable business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow strategic relationships with key modern‑trade customers, leading commercial discussions, pricing and trading terms.
• Develop and execute joint business plans, promotional calendars and category growth initiatives.
• Lead, coach and monitor a team of Key Account Executives to achieve sales, profitability and market‑share targets.
• Collaborate with demand‑planning and supply‑chain teams to ensure product availability and accurate forecasting.
• Analyse customer performance, identify growth opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with trade‑marketing to design and evaluate in‑store activations and promotional effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in modern‑trade sales or key‑account management within consumer‑goods or retail sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Leadership skills to develop and motivate a sales team.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to translate market insights into actionable sales plans.
