Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our Business Acceptance team. You will be responsible for overseeing client onboarding and matter opening workflows while providing day‑to‑day compliance support across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end client onboarding and matter opening processes, ensuring efficiency and timely delivery.
• Act as the first point of escalation for queries on conflicts, AML, CDD, Intapp, billing and third‑party payors.
• Allocate and monitor workload within the team, supporting colleagues to prioritize competing demands.
• Analyse conflict search results, resolve regulatory and commercial conflicts, and advise fee‑earners on required documentation.
• Implement and maintain information barriers and conduct sanctions screenings, liaising with internal SMEs to resolve issues.
• Supervise a small “pod” of Compliance Officers, providing training, mentoring and consistent guidance on compliance matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, AML, CDD and sanctions within a professional services environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on client service.
• Demonstrated people‑management skills, including mentoring and team supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partners and fee‑earners.
