Senior Principal Civil/Structural Designer

About the role

The Senior Principal Civil/Structural Designer leads the civil and structural design discipline, delivering high‑quality engineering solutions for complex oil and gas projects. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, the role combines autonomous technical work with the coordination of multidisciplinary teams to meet client and project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop conceptual, FEED, and detailed design drawings, ensuring clarity, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
• Create and maintain 3D models, guaranteeing clash‑free integration with all other disciplines.
• Lead and coordinate design teams, forecast resource needs, and manage design deliverables within schedule and budget.
• Act as technical coordinator for 3D macro development in E3D/S3D and oversee design interfaces with other disciplines.
• Review and validate designs for operational, HSE, and statutory requirements, and provide drafting support as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 14 years of experience in civil/structural design, with at least 9 years in oil and gas.
• Proven experience as Lead Designer on small to medium projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry detailing standards, codes, and QA systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation proficiency.
• Experience with E3D and/or S3D modeling tools.
• 3D modeling and 2D drafting expertise.
• AutoLisp programming and macro development.
• Material control systems and QA processes.
