Senior Specialist Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

A prestigious government healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology. You will join a dedicated women’s health and maternity team, delivering comprehensive clinical care and supporting the institution’s commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for obstetric and gynecological patients.
• Deliver full antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, managing both routine and high‑risk pregnancies.
• Perform obstetric procedures and gynecological surgeries within your expertise.
• Handle obstetric emergencies with timely clinical intervention.
• Conduct gynecological assessments, manage a broad range of women’s health conditions and perform related diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Collaborate with midwives, nurses, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and other multidisciplinary professionals.
• Participate in rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to teaching, training and mentorship of junior staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, South African Board).
• Significant post‑specialty clinical experience, including management of routine and high‑risk obstetric cases.
• Proven experience in obstetric emergencies and gynecological procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making abilities and excellent communication skills.
