Specialist - Family Medicine

About the role

The Specialist in Family Medicine provides comprehensive medical services to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of internal organ systems, delivering both curative and preventive care in an integrated program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient consultations by appointment and follow‑up on medical problems.
• Work all scheduled shifts and monitor clinical indicators for quality assurance.
• Adhere to organization policies, infection control, patient safety, OSHAD, DOH, JCI and ISO standards.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and in‑service training programs such as ACLS, BLS, CNEs, CMEs, conferences, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate effective interpersonal communication with staff, patients and management.

Required profile

• Graduated from an approved medical school with one year internship and three years residency.
• Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or membership of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent).
• At least five years of practice as a Specialist in Family Medicine, including three years as a licensed consultant.
• Current specialist license in country of origin and DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Excellent oral and written English; Arabic knowledge desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Continuing Medical Education (CME) participation.
• Knowledge of medical department policies, confidentiality obligations, and regulatory compliance.
