About the role
The Steward is responsible for operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, ensuring kitchen and store areas are hygienic, and supporting overall food service operations.
Key responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, and trash compactors; clean and disinfect kitchen, store rooms, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored appropriately.
- Use detergents, rinsing and sanitizing chemicals in a 3‑compartment sink; inspect, pull, stack cleaned items and re‑wash as needed.
- Maintain trashcans, dumpsters, and recycling bins; break down cardboard and other recyclables.
- Follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, and complete required safety training.
Required profile
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
- Physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to reach overhead, bend, twist, and stoop.
- Clear and professional communication skills; ability to work positively within a team.
