System Administrator – Intelligent Transport Systems

About the role

The client seeks a hands‑on System & Application Administrator to support mission‑critical transportation software across the Middle East. The role focuses on central applications and operational systems rather than roadside hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and monitor transportation platforms in physical, cloud, IaaS and PaaS environments.
• Deploy and support applications on traditional servers and modern micro‑services architectures.
• Provide second‑line support for live systems, investigating faults, alerts and performance issues.
• Write scripts and automate recurring tasks using Ansible or similar tools.
• Collaborate with project teams on solution design, deployment, integration and customer training.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years experience administering operational software in ITS, traffic management, tolling or smart mobility.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer‑facing skills in live operational environments.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel when required.

Required skills

• Windows and Linux/Unix server administration.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Shell/Bash or Windows Batch.
• Automation tools such as Ansible and version control with Git.
• Experience with cloud environments, IaaS/PaaS and complex system integrations.
• Knowledge of SQL/databases, micro‑services, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
