Consultant / Specialist Pulmonologist – Respiratory & Lung Medicine

About the role

A leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai is expanding its Respiratory Medicine and Pulmonary Care services. The Consultant / Specialist Pulmonologist will join a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for acute and chronic respiratory diseases in a modern hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis and complex conditions such as interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, spirometry and other respiratory investigations.
• Conduct bronchoscopy and related procedures when clinically indicated.
• Manage sleep‑related breathing disorders, coordinate sleep studies and treat obstructive sleep apnea.
• Provide inpatient consultations for acute respiratory failure and severe infections, collaborating with critical care teams.
• Develop personalised treatment plans, patient education programmes and long‑term disease‑management strategies.
• Coordinate care with thoracic surgeons, infectious disease specialists and internal medicine physicians.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and adherence to international guidelines.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or specialist qualification in Pulmonology.
• Minimum 3 + years post‑specialist experience.
• Experience working in a hospital environment with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and international respiratory guidelines.

Required skills

• Pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and spirometry interpretation.
• Bronchoscopy proficiency.
• Sleep study coordination and obstructive sleep apnea management.
• Critical care ventilation management.
