Oracle Database Administrator – Healthcare

About the role

The Oracle Database Administrator will ensure the integrity, availability, performance and security of all Oracle database systems that support the healthcare organization’s clinical, ERP, financial, supply‑chain and research workloads. This role is critical for maintaining continuous patient‑care services and revenue‑cycle operations. You will work with high‑volume reporting platforms while complying with Abu Dhabi health regulations and internal cybersecurity controls.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the full lifecycle of Oracle Database (12c, 19c, 21c, 23ai) on Linux and engineered systems.
• Operate and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard (physical and logical), and Active Data Guard topologies.
• Plan and execute backup, archive and recovery using RMAN; conduct regular restore drills.
• Perform performance tuning including SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, indexing, partitioning and PGA/SGA sizing.
• Apply Oracle patches (RU, RUR, PSU, CPU) within approved maintenance windows.
• Manage ASM, grid infrastructure and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
• Implement security features such as TDE, Database Vault, Data Redaction, Unified Auditing and Advanced Security.
• Support database refresh, cloning and data masking across production, UAT and development environments.
• Lead L3 incident response for Oracle‑related issues and participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation.
• Coordinate upgrades, migrations and lifecycle activities for Exadata and ZDLRA.
• Maintain capacity forecasts, storage recommendations and documentation of runbooks, DR procedures and audit evidence.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience managing Oracle databases in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (DoH Abu Dhabi, ADHICS v2, ISO 27001).
• Proven ability to work in a 24x7 on‑call rotation and respond to clinical‑impacting incidents.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM and OEM.
