Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Consultant

About the role

Our leading healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). The role involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with physical, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions to improve mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments to determine medical, functional, and mobility needs.
• Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular, and functional disorders.
• Develop individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans aligned with patient goals.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary programs with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other interventions.
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes.
• Provide non‑surgical and interventional pain management, including joint injections, nerve blocks, and ultrasound‑guided procedures.
• Offer post‑operative rehabilitation guidance in collaboration with orthopedic, neurosurgical, and other specialist teams.
• Counsel patients and families on rehabilitation goals, options, and expectations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or an equivalent specialty.
• Consultant‑level qualification recognized under UAE Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Relevant post‑specialization experience managing complex physical, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making, and communication skills.
