Senior Design Team Lead Electrical

About the role

HDR is seeking a Senior Design Team Lead (Electrical) to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise for its electrical design teams in Dubai. You will oversee the development and delivery of complex electrical systems across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring high standards of quality, innovation, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical design teams on multiple projects, providing technical direction, mentoring and performance oversight.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, digital delivery teams and other discipline leaders as the primary electrical design lead.
• Plan, execute and deliver electrical design packages aligned with scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
• Oversee design and coordination of power distribution, lighting, grounding, low‑voltage, communications, life‑safety and other building electrical infrastructure.
• Review and approve calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings and construction documentation for code and standard compliance.
• Resolve technical conflicts between electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural and specialty systems.
• Establish and maintain design standards, workflows and best practices to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Guide BIM and digital delivery integration within electrical design workflows.
• Support project pursuits through technical expertise, proposal development and client presentations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical design teams on large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong ability to mentor staff and manage performance.
• Excellent coordination skills with architects, engineers, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering design packages on time, within budget and to quality standards.
