Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to lead project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring for major construction projects in Dubai. The role involves developing detailed schedules, analysing critical paths, and supporting recovery plans to ensure timely project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules from initiation through completion
• Prepare baseline schedules, detailed work programmes and resource‑loaded schedules
• Monitor project progress against approved plans and identify potential delays and risks
• Perform critical path analysis and assess the impact of delays on overall project completion
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and schedule updates for management and stakeholders
• Develop and support recovery and mitigation plans when performance is behind schedule
• Conduct delay analysis and support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims
• Coordinate planning activities with project managers, site teams, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders
• Review contractors’ and subcontractors’ programmes and assess compliance with contractual requirements
• Monitor key project milestones and ensure planning data reflects actual site progress
• Support project forecasting and provide recommendations to improve schedule performance

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer or Project Controls Engineer
• Proven experience on large‑scale construction projects
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis and progress monitoring
• Experience with delay analysis, recovery planning and EOT claims
• Good understanding of project controls and the construction project lifecycle
• Experience working with contractors and/or consultancy companies is highly preferred
• Professional working proficiency in English
