Accountant - Full Set of Accounts

About the role

V & V Tobacco, a vertically integrated tobacco product manufacturer with a global hub in Dubai, is hiring a full-time, on-site Accountant in the Dubai Free Zone. The successful candidate will independently maintain the full set of accounts, from initial documentation through reconciliation and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets, and complete month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare financial statements and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Issue and verify invoices and credit notes, reconcile customer and supplier accounts and perform bank reconciliations
• Reconcile orders, invoices and inventory movements, calculate landed costs and analyse product costs and margins
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, coordinate with external tax advisers and auditors, and support free zone tax compliance
• Support electronic invoicing implementation, master data maintenance and invoice exception handling
• Produce management reports on cash flow, receivables, payables, inventory and profitability using Excel

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Preferred: ACCA, CPA or CMA, and at least three years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE
• Experience with free zone trading, import/export, inventory accounting and multi-currency operations strongly preferred
• Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, and experience with external auditors, tax advisers and banks
• Good command of written and spoken English; Filipino preferred

Required skills

• Strong Excel: formulas (SUMIFS, IF, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), PivotTables, data validation and large dataset reconciliation
• Word and PowerPoint for reports and presentations
• Proficiency in at least one accounting software or ERP system
