Animal Facility Research Technician (Full‑time)

About the role

The Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies at Ajman University seeks a full‑time Animal Facility Research Technician to manage daily operations of its animal research facility. The role blends supervisory duties with hands‑on animal husbandry, ensuring compliance with institutional and international standards while supporting researchers in experimental work.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee animal housing, feeding, health monitoring, breeding programs and welfare standards.
• Supervise day‑to‑day facility operations, maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and bio‑security.
• Maintain equipment, coordinate repairs and manage vendor relationships.
• Record breeding data, health checks, inventories and facility logs accurately.
• Assist researchers with animal handling, dosing, surgical support and sample collection.
• Provide training on animal care, use procedures and ethical standards.
• Prepare for internal and external inspections, audits and accreditation processes.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and manage procurement of feed, bedding and supplies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Biology or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in laboratory animal facility management or research.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory animal husbandry, breeding programs and ethical research standards.
• Proven ability to support experimental procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
