Art Teacher - Term 2 Start

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting an Art Teacher for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in Term 2. The school is part of Aldar Education's network of schools in Abu Dhabi, serving students from nursery through adult education. The post involves delivering engaging art lessons, working with parents and colleagues, and acting as a form tutor.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging art lessons that inspire students to succeed, working with colleagues to plan sessions that meet curriculum requirements
• Plan, prepare and present sessions for the whole ability range, organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays
• Observe and assess children according to the Assessment Policy, and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress at parent-teacher conferences and other meetings
• Manage classes effectively, follow the Behaviour Policy and act as a positive role model
• Work as part of the department team, support planning, assessment, resources and special events, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Support school events, outings and activities, and communicate with parents and carers using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable
• Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum

• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve and be resilient
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
• Graphic design experience is highly beneficial
