Chemistry Teacher

About the role

SABIS International School in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi is hiring a Chemistry Teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The teacher ensures students' academic success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and teaching methods, and supporting students in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, and develop them from pacing charts where needed, applying the SABIS point system
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom and proctor exams
• Support, guide and motivate academically underperforming students
• Help prepare students for external exams using previous papers in the structured revision schedule
• Assist with testing, substitution, lunch and bus organisation, crowd control and other administrative tasks
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and sports, with the Student Life Coordinator
• Attend training sessions and carry out other tasks delegated by school management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
• English proficiency
• Meets country and local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks
