Assistant Manager - Mediterranean Restaurant

About the role

FIVE Hotels and Resorts is hiring an Assistant Manager for its Mediterranean Restaurant in Dubai. The role assists the Restaurant Manager in daily operations, coordinates with the culinary team and the Food and Beverage Manager, and helps recruit, train and supervise the restaurant team. The advertised compensation is a fixed monthly salary of AED 4,400.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily operations and interact personally with guests throughout their dining experience
• Oversee the dining area and other service zones, and coordinate with the culinary team on quality and presentation
• Ensure health and safety standards, sanitation guidelines and food quality control meet regulatory requirements
• Help recruit, train and supervise the restaurant team, run performance evaluations and provide feedback
• Analyse financial reports such as sales trends, food and beverage cost and labour cost, and implement corrective measures to optimise profitability
• Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager on revenue strategies, marketing initiatives and promotions, and liaise with other departments
• Attend team meetings and training sessions, and stay informed on industry trends and culinary techniques

Required profile

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Floor Supervisor, Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager in a luxury hotel is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
• Proven track record of achieving financial targets, managing budgets and controlling costs
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with a hands-on, proactive approach

Required skills

• Computer literacy with Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong knowledge of restaurant management software and POS systems
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards and restaurant operations best practices
