Associate - Cost Management

About the role

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Associate - Cost Management to join its team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role provides cost management and quantity surveying services across large, complex projects spanning multiple sectors, working with clients, project managers, consultants and contractors to keep projects on budget and commercially sound from inception through design, procurement, construction and closeout.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advisory on procurement and phasing strategies, consultant appointments and contractor selection
• Support feasibility studies and pre-contract estimating, including design-to-budget responsibilities, and see projects through to post-contract close-out
• Manage projects and resources within established budgets and act as primary client contact on mid-scale projects
• Manage quality control, benchmarking, data collection and internal reporting
• Brief the team on project scope so that roles and responsibilities are clear
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, including where appropriate the graduate development programme, and monitor the performance of direct reports

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years in the construction industry, including at least 5 years in Dubai or the Middle East
• Ideally experience in both pre-contract and post-contract roles, managing high-profile landmark projects and leading teams of more than 6
• Experience across asset types such as high-end residential, commercial and hospitality
• Experience leading projects with CAPEX exceeding US$ 200 million
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or another construction-related field
• Chartered RICS membership (MRICS)

• Claims management and assessment
• Strong contract administration skills (FIDIC) for consultants and contractors
• Ability to take ownership and lead work under minimal direction
