Associate – Roads & Highways

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced Associate to lead the design delivery of complex roads and highways packages across Abu Dhabi. The role sits at a senior technical level and involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams to produce fully integrated, compliant design solutions for large‑scale infrastructure and land development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and detailed design of arterial roads, local roads, interchanges, junctions and access roads.
• Ensure all designs meet Abu Dhabi authority standards, manuals, specifications and international best practice.
• Review and approve technical deliverables, drawings, reports and design calculations.
• Coordinate with utilities, drainage, traffic, structures, street lighting, landscaping and public realm disciplines.
• Manage design interfaces, resolve technical conflicts and support buildable solutions.
• Participate in client and authority meetings, support submissions and provide technical advice.
• Assist in resource planning, bid preparation and improvement of internal design processes.
• Mentor engineers and senior engineers within the Roads & Highways team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of professional experience in roads and highways design.
• Extensive experience on Abu Dhabi infrastructure and land development projects.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority standards and approval processes.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
