Associate/Full Professor, Human-AI Interaction and Generative Interfaces

About the role

The Human-Computer Interaction area of the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi is recruiting an Associate/Full Professor to lead research on human-AI interaction and generative interfaces. The role focuses on designing and empirically evaluating interactive AI systems, with interdisciplinary collaboration across AI and related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Lead graduate design studios and run empirical evaluations of user experience and human-AI collaboration.
• Deliver high-quality instruction and mentor students.
• Contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies and research institutions on AI-driven solutions, and work alongside leading AI researchers.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Design Engineering or a related field by the time of appointment.
• Strong research record in HCI, shown through publications in top-tier venues and funded research (as appropriate to career stage).
• Established excellence in teaching and mentoring.
