Buyer, Electronics, Interconnect & General Procurement

About the role

This position owns sourcing for the electronics and interconnect category—including wire harnesses, connectors, PCBs, PCBAs, and electrical components—while handling a full tactical procurement load across direct and indirect categories as the company scales from launch to multi‑program production.

Key responsibilities

• Own sourcing activities for electronics and interconnect categories, including wire harnesses, connectors, PCBs, PCBAs and electrical components.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers through RFQs, commercial negotiations and contract awards.
• Develop and maintain sourcing strategies covering supply‑base mapping, dual‑source planning, localisation, cost optimisation and lead‑time reduction.
• Partner with Engineering and Design‑to‑Manufacturing teams on component selection, approved alternates, obsolescence management and design‑for‑sourcing improvements.
• Coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and lead supplier qualification per the Orbitworks Approved Supplier List.
• Manage the full purchase‑order lifecycle in NetSuite, from requisition review to expediting and delivery tracking.
• Procure indirect goods and services such as marketing, facilities and operational consumables, and establish automation mechanisms like blanket PO, framework agreements and VMI.
• Work closely with production and material planners to align procurement with the master production schedule and mitigate shortages.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of procurement experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with hands‑on tactical buying.
• Experience sourcing electronics, PCB/PCBA, cable and wire harnesses, connectors or strong technical aptitude to develop expertise quickly.
• Familiarity with aerospace or other highly regulated industries and knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, counterfeit‑part prevention and material traceability.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials and technical specifications.
• UAE‑based with valid residency and work authorization.

• Electronics components knowledge: PCB/PCBA, wire harnesses, connectors, electro‑mechanical parts.
• Procurement automation tools such as blanket purchase orders, framework agreements and Vendor Managed Inventory.
