Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for executing day‑to‑day purchasing activities that support operational, maintenance, project and overall business requirements. Acting as the primary coordinator for purchase requisitions, supplier engagement and order management, the role ensures timely acquisition of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Review approved purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in line with procedures and delegated authority.
• Verify procurement documentation, approvals and system requirements before order placement.
• Process high‑volume requisition‑to‑order transactions within the ERP system, maintaining visibility and accuracy.
• Maintain open purchase order visibility, track deliveries and monitor supplier commitments.
• Obtain quotations from approved suppliers, coordinate routine and urgent purchasing needs, and liaise with suppliers on quotations, order acknowledgements and commercial terms.
• Follow up with suppliers to expedite deliveries, resolve fulfillment issues and mitigate supply risks.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, correspondence and documentation to support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to identifying and escalating supply risks.
• Understanding of procurement policies, governance requirements and audit standards.

Required skills

• Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for purchase order processing.
