Captain Waiter

About the role

A hotel belonging to the Accor network, which groups more than 45 brands, 5,500 hotels, 10,000 restaurants and lifestyle destinations, is looking for a Captain Waiter. The role combines warm, elegant and professional service to guests with the supervision and coordination of the service team.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to guests with warmth, elegance and professionalism, building personal connections while keeping discretion and appropriate formality.
• Anticipate guest preferences and needs, offering personalized recommendations, and handle requests, feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Recognize VIP guests, regular customers and special occasions, and maintain the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
• Supervise and coordinate Commis Waiters and other assigned service team members, delegating duties clearly.
• Brief the team before each service on reservations, VIP guests, special requests and menu changes, and monitor performance with coaching and on-the-job training.
• Lead by example in grooming, punctuality, discipline and professionalism, and ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and the kitchen.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in upscale restaurants, luxury hotels or fine-dining establishments.
• Previous experience as a Captain Waiter, Chef de Rang or senior waiter is preferred.
• Experience supervising and guiding junior service staff.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards.
