Cashier – Restaurant Front‑of‑House

About the role

The Cashier is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a friendly atmosphere while accurately handling all payment transactions. This role supports smooth restaurant operations by coordinating orders between customers, the kitchen, and delivery platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, answer inquiries, and create a welcoming environment.
• Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, and calculate totals.
• Process cash, credit‑card, and digital payments, providing correct change and receipts.
• Maintain a clean, stocked cash register area and manage daily cash reconciliation.
• Use the aggregator system to monitor online orders, apply discounts, and update digital inventory in real time.
• Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff and prioritize based on dining room capacity or delivery needs.
• Handle phone calls, upsell menu items, and address customer concerns promptly.
• Assist with front‑of‑house duties such as seating guests, bussing tables, and keeping the dining area tidy.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer‑facing restaurant role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Experience using an aggregator/order‑management platform.
• Cash handling and digital payment processing.
