Catering Assistant

About the role

A Catering Assistant supports the catering team in preparing, setting up, serving and clearing food and beverages for events, meetings and daily food service operations. The position is full-time and based in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages for catering events and daily service.
• Set up catering areas, buffet stations, meeting rooms or dining areas before events.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep catering equipment, utensils and service areas clean and organised.
• Pack, transport and set up catering supplies for off-site events when required.
• Clear tables and dispose of waste according to hygiene standards.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in line with company and regulatory requirements.
• Assist chefs or kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages or replenishment needs.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest requests promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or culinary certification; previous experience in catering, hospitality or food service is an advantage.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers, management and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within the instructions and routines given.
• Regular, punctual attendance.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and to stand for long periods.
