Chief Engineer – Electric Propulsion

About the role

This position offers a senior engineering professional the chance to shape the technical direction of an electric aircraft programme. You will lead system‑level decisions that impact performance, supplier selection, certification evidence and overall programme success.

Key responsibilities

• Define the electric propulsion architecture, including motor selection, sizing and configuration.
• Lead battery system design covering cell chemistry, pack and module architecture, battery management and thermal‑runaway containment.
• Establish high‑voltage distribution and propulsion thermal‑management strategies suitable for Dubai’s hot climate.
• Develop the certification and qualification strategy for rechargeable lithium batteries.
• Collaborate with motor, battery cell and power‑electronics suppliers to assess technical fit, integration and certification readiness.
• Partner with other engineering leaders to balance propulsion choices with flight‑control, vehicle performance and mission requirements.

Required profile

• Intermediate level engineering experience (minimum 2 years) in aerospace or electric propulsion.
• Proven ability to lead trade studies and mitigation strategies for high‑risk technical areas.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to whole‑system challenges.
