Civil Foreman (Fitout)

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Civil Foreman for fitout projects in Dubai. The foreman oversees and manages all civil and structural works so that they are carried out efficiently, safely and to specification, supervising site teams, coordinating with subcontractors and liaising with project engineers and site managers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil works such as partitions, flooring, ceilings, painting and plastering, ensuring work follows approved drawings, specifications and industry standards.
• Assign tasks to site workers and subcontractors, monitor daily site activity and give progress updates to project managers.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and architectural trades, attend site meetings and help resolve technical issues.
• Enforce safety regulations, run safety briefings and toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with local safety codes.
• Plan and request materials and tools in advance, manage their storage and use to minimise waste, and keep site records such as progress reports and material usage logs.
• Identify and resolve site problems, advise the workforce and report major challenges with proposed solutions.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in civil works, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the fitout industry.
• Strong knowledge of interior fitout works such as drywall, false ceilings, tiling and finishing.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations for civil works.
