CNS Engineer – Airport Communication & Navigation Systems

About the role

The CNS Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supervising communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) systems at airport facilities. The role ensures safety, reliability and compliance with ICAO, GCAA and international standards while supporting Enova's business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team to perform maintenance, installation and inspection of CNS equipment such as ILS, AWOS, VCCS, voice recorders and related IT systems.
• Design high‑level circuit drawings, specifications and calculations for CNS projects and proposals.
• Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance on UPS, generators and low/medium voltage motors.
• Provide technical direction, on‑the‑job training and coordination for supervisors and technicians.
• Analyze reports, drawings and test data to plan installations and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Support HSEQ activities, incident reporting and risk assessments related to CNS operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of CNS maintenance experience in an airport environment, with exposure to facilities management.
• Hands‑on experience with Instrument Landing System (ILS) or Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS).
• Knowledge of GCAA regulations and international aviation standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ILS, AWOS and VCCS equipment.
• Experience using computer‑assisted engineering and design software.
• Understanding of low and medium voltage motor, UPS and generator systems.
• Familiarity with ATM (Air Traffic Management) systems and related documentation.
