About the role

The Commis in the Banquet Kitchen supports the preparation and service of banquet meals, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and safety. This role works closely with chefs and service staff to deliver seamless dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

Prepare special meals, cold foods, and substitute items according to recipes and quality standards.
Regulate oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures and manage food thawing from freezer storage.
Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintain food logs.
Monitor food quality and quantity, inform chefs of excess items for daily specials, and communicate menu specials to service staff.
Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as needed.
Follow safety, security, and uniform policies, report maintenance issues, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
At least 3 years of related kitchen experience.
No supervisory experience required.
