Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Rixos Hotels in Dubai is seeking a Commis II to support kitchen operations across its outlets. The role involves preparing inventory lists, assisting chefs, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain inventory lists for the assigned station.
• Fill in for absent chefs and follow standard recipes and plating guides.
• Provide daily market lists and control goods received to guarantee quality and quantity.
• Assist in creating recipes, costing, and special food promotions.
• Communicate with outlet supervisors, control food wastage, and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Maintain records, log books, and adhere to operational standards and HACCP.
• Check buffet setup, food labeling, and equipment condition before, during, and after service.
• Assist guests by explaining dishes, recommending specialties, and ensuring continuous buffet replenishment.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality.
• 1‑2 years experience in a 4‑5 star hotel kitchen.
• Ability to work punctual, well‑groomed, and follow hotel policies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Inventory management and basic food costing.
