Communications Manager

About the role

The Communications Manager leads Sharjah Art Foundation’s integrated communications strategy, covering public relations, media relations, marketing, social media, digital platforms and the website. This senior role oversees campaigns for exhibitions, programmes and institutional initiatives while managing the communications team and departmental budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy across PR, media, marketing, social media and digital channels.
• Plan and lead communications campaigns for exhibitions, events and major programmes such as the Sharjah Biennial and March Meeting.
• Produce, review and approve all communications materials in English and Arabic, ensuring consistent institutional messaging.
• Manage media relations locally, regionally and internationally, including press outreach, media kits, releases and briefing documents.
• Maintain relationships with artists, curators, cultural institutions, journalists, agencies and media partners.
• Oversee SAF Shops, the online shop and ticketing communications for Rain Room Sharjah.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, public relations and media relations within the cultural or non‑profit sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a communications team and manage a departmental budget.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in both English and Arabic.
• Ability to work closely with senior management, curators and external stakeholders.
